A new design fully automated PLC controlled press-plant is under construction.
Target completion is April 2008.

This press-system is fully automated, from powder feeding through parts placement.
A N2 enclosure operating at < 3% O2 ensures parts protection against oxidation.
A transverse die-set placed in a 2 Tesla orientation field is lubricated & cleaned automatically. Typical cycle time is 15 sec’s, producing 4 parts per min.

Two of such presses could automatically feed parts into one and the same glove box, this to reduce the labor cost of handling the parts after compaction.

The press-frame & hydraulics can also be fitted with an axial adaptor, producing Near Net Shaped parts with a press speed up to 10 strokes per min. 

NKE will update the status of the press construction on a regular basis.

Once completed the press system can be demonstrated in action, to interested & potential customers.
